Narita Tsutomu’s 2026 announcement (full text)

On September 17th, 2026, longtime GBF composer made an announcement on social media about changes to his role in the game, thanking the fans for 12 years of Granblue Fantasy. We’ve translated the full text, just like KMR’s goodbye letter. This one isn’t a full goodbye, just so we’re clear:

Thank you for your love and support.

In the interest of balancing my schedule as well as other factors, I have started leaving some composing and editing of Granblue Fantasy in-game music to the Cygames sound team. The Cygames sound team is full of talented people, and I can leave the work to them with no reservations, so I hope everyone continues to enjoy the music of the game.

I have been taking part in Granblue Fantasy‘s composition since 2014, and written countless tracks for them. I’ve been part of many concerts and other events, acting as both composer and performer. I’ve experienced so many things in the game, from loving my favorite character to grinding events (especially Unite and Fight), and even now I have a lot of friends who like to sit around and chat about the game while playing with each other. I have so many great memories iof this game. For these 12 years, the game has been a huge part of my life.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank the fans who have loved experiencing the game with its many songs, and also thank Cygames for the many opportunities to take part.

I’ll keep going on as scattered and frantic as I always do, but I will take on many different challenges in the future, some will be the same ones I’ve been tackling as before and some will be different. I hope that everyone will enjoy seeing and hearing them!

After discussions with Cygames, I still intend to compose for Granblue Fantasy and other Cygames projects, so I hope you continue to love the game’s music, as well as other Cygames game music!
